茅臺(tái)海外價(jià)格大幅下跌(雙語(yǔ))

  Any guest at a Chinese banquet will be used to the acrid smell of bai jiu – China’s favourite liqour. Demand for top-of-the-range bottles of the stuff, produced by Moutai, soared during Chinese new year. Moutai responded with a 20 per cent price hike in the domestic market.

  經(jīng)常出席中式宴會(huì)的人會(huì)習(xí)慣白酒的辛辣氣味,這是中國(guó)人最喜愛(ài)的烈酒。春節(jié)期間白酒“茅臺(tái)”的需求量大幅增長(zhǎng),茅臺(tái)于是將國(guó)內(nèi)市場(chǎng)上的售價(jià)上調(diào)了20%。

  But for those desperate to get hold of a bottle but without the necessary capital, all you have to do is get out of China, where prices are tumbling.

  但對(duì)于那些很想買(mǎi)、卻又買(mǎi)不起的人來(lái)說(shuō),不妨到國(guó)外去。茅臺(tái)在國(guó)外的價(jià)格正在大幅下跌。

  The China Daily reports that a 375-mililiter bottle of 53-degree Flying Moutai (the brand’s best-selling product) sold at a Chinese supermarket in the US for $82.99 (550 yuan). In China, the price for the same amount reached 1,050 yuan, according to the newspaper.

  據(jù)《中國(guó)日?qǐng)?bào)》報(bào)道,375毫升裝、53度的“飛天茅臺(tái)”(最暢銷(xiāo)的茅臺(tái)酒)在美國(guó)一家華人超市的售價(jià)為每瓶82.99美元(合550元人民幣),而在中國(guó)則賣(mài)到每瓶1050元人民幣。

  The price difference is caused by an imbalance in market demand. Sales numbers of Moutai in foreign markets are not very impressive.

  這種價(jià)差是由市場(chǎng)需求不平衡導(dǎo)致。茅臺(tái)在外國(guó)市場(chǎng)上銷(xiāo)量平平。

  The FT’s Jamil Anderlini offers some indication of why foreigners aren’t so keen on the stuff:

  英國(guó)《金融時(shí)報(bào)》的吉密歐(Jamil Anderlini)提供了一些外國(guó)人為何不那么喜愛(ài)茅臺(tái)酒的提示:

  " Moutai, the fiery official liquor for state banquets since the Communist revolution, has been variously described by foreign dignitaries as ' liquid razor blades” and “smelling like a barnyard and tasting like turpentine'."
