So, I think I got the point across to’em, but you ought to take a j- when you get out of here, take a job you love. Don’t take a job that, ya know, you think is gonna look good on your resume. Take a job you love. You may change it later on, but you’ll jump out of bed in the morning… I mean, when I got out of Columbia, the first thing I tried is to go to work for Graham immediately, I offered to go to work for ’em for nothing. He said I was overpriced, but I kept pestering him. I went out to Omaha and I sold securities for three years, and I kept writing him and giving him ideas and all this, and finally, I went to work for him for a couple of years, and, it was a great experience.

I don’t know how I got off on that,but I- there I am. So I do think that if you think you’re going to be a lot happier if you’ve got Two-X instead of X, you’re probably making a mistake. I mean, you ought to find something you like that works with that, and you’ll get in trouble if you think that making Ten-X or Twenty-X is the answer to everything in life.

　　我總是投入到我熱愛(ài)的職業(yè)中去。你們真的應(yīng)該從事自己喜歡的工作，如果你的經(jīng)濟(jì)寬裕而獨(dú)立，你就該這么做。你定這樣的工作是因?yàn)槟銜?huì)從中得到很多快樂(lè)，你將會(huì)從中受益，會(huì)感到興奮，你不能錯(cuò)過(guò)它。你以后可能去做些別的事兒，但是做它，你會(huì)收獲更多。我不在乎我的起薪是多少，或諸如此類的事。我不知道自己當(dāng)初是如何喜歡上這份工作的，不過(guò)，我就是喜歡它。我確信，如果覺(jué)得得到兩倍比得到一倍會(huì)讓你更高興，你很可能就錯(cuò)了。我是說(shuō)，你應(yīng)該找到一份你喜歡的工作去做，拿那份工資。如果你覺(jué)得掙10 倍或20 倍的工資，生活就無(wú)憂了，那么，你就會(huì)遇上麻煩了。因?yàn)槟菢拥脑挘銜?huì)做些傻事，比如在不該借錢時(shí)借錢，或者老板想讓你“偷工減料”的時(shí)候“偷工減料”，等等。這對(duì)你沒(méi)有任何意義，當(dāng)你回想這段經(jīng)歷時(shí)，你不會(huì)為此而高興。
