Researchers in Montreal say unemployment can lead to a shorter life, particularly among men.

The findings, analyzing 40 years worth of data from millions of people in 15 countries published in the Journal of Social Science &Medicine, strongly suggest men are particularly affected.
這篇刊載于《社會(huì)科學(xué)及醫(yī)學(xué)》雜志上的文章，分析了十五個(gè)國家前后四十年統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)，研究了數(shù)千萬人后得出了以上結(jié)論。
"We suspect that even today, not having a job is more stressful for men than for women," said Eran Shor, a sociology professor at McGill University in Montreal.
蒙特利爾麥克吉爾大學(xué)的社會(huì)學(xué)教授厄蘭·邵爾說，“即便是當(dāng)今社會(huì)，失業(yè)對(duì)男性造成的壓力也要大過女人。”
The study found sustained unemployment raises the risk of premature death by 63 percent. The risk is increased 78 percent for men compared with 37 percent for women.
這項(xiàng)研究發(fā)現(xiàn)長期失業(yè)會(huì)使早亡的幾率增加63%，其中，女性增加37%，而男性則高達(dá)78%。
