Researchers in Montreal say unemployment can lead to a shorter life, particularly among men.
加拿大蒙特利爾的研究者稱,失業(yè)會縮短人的壽命,特別是對于男性。
The findings, analyzing 40 years worth of data from millions of people in 15 countries published in the Journal of Social Science &Medicine, strongly suggest men are particularly affected.
這篇刊載于《社會科學及醫(yī)學》雜志上的文章,分析了十五個國家前后四十年統(tǒng)計數(shù)據(jù),研究了數(shù)千萬人后得出了以上結論。
"We suspect that even today, not having a job is more stressful for men than for women," said Eran Shor, a sociology professor at McGill University in Montreal.
蒙特利爾麥克吉爾大學的社會學教授厄蘭·邵爾說,“即便是當今社會,失業(yè)對男性造成的壓力也要大過女人。”
The study found sustained unemployment raises the risk of premature death by 63 percent. The risk is increased 78 percent for men compared with 37 percent for women.
這項研究發(fā)現(xiàn)長期失業(yè)會使早亡的幾率增加63%,其中,女性增加37%,而男性則高達78%。
